John has been involved in various aspects of the construction industry for over 35 years through a family custom home building and specialty renovations company. His extensive experience runs from stone masonry and foundation work to roofing and includes renovations, redesigns for existing structures, basement remodels and custom cabinetry. John’s experience as a real estate agent and training in real estate appraisal provides valuable insight and offers multiple perspectives applicable to all sides of the real estate transaction. 

John’s many years spent in the aviation industry as a commercial pilot paired with 10 years of experience as a VA State Certified Safety Inspector results in a familiarity with code requirements and a level of knowledge uncommon throughout the home inspection community.  These experiences enable John to evaluate components that are common throughout various industries, including electrical and mechanical systems, at a fundamental level and with a focus on safety.
